Who We Are
The Columbia Public Library is located at 106 North Metter Avenue, Columbia, Illinois, 62236. The library provides free library cards to all residents living or owning property within the Columbia city boundaries with cards available to others for a fee (currently $80 per year).
The library holds a variety of materials including books, DVDs, videos, compact discs, books on CD and cassette, magazines, and CD-ROMS.
In addition to checking out these items, many people visit the library to utilize the free WI-FI, view and print electronic reference resources, access the Internet on available computers through the Library’s DSL connection, read our various newspapers, research local genealogy, or attend one of the Library’s many events.

Our Mission
The mission of the Columbia Public Library is to make library materials and information services readily available to area residents proportionate to levels of demand and use. Special emphasis will be placed on providing current, high-demand, high-interest materials in a variety of formats, while stimulating young children's interest and appreciation for reading and learning, and supporting the formal educational needs of individuals of all ages.
