COVID-19 Guidelines in Library

Please help us keep our doors open by following these guidelines.

Current Hours: 

  • Monday – Thursday 9 am – 8 pm
  • Friday 9 am – 5 pm
  • Saturday 9 am – 4 pm
  • Masks are no longer required (but recommended for those not fully vaccinated).
  • If individuals are not fully vaccinated, it is recommended they wear a face covering and/or social distancing.
  • Stay home if you are sick or have been near someone who thinks they may have or have been exposed to COVID-19.

Please sanitize hands upon entering the building. We have sanitizer located just inside the entrance. 

Keep 6 feet between you and other people.

Bring items to circulation desk.  You can give us your library card or we can scan your card through our sneeze guard.  Place items on counter and move to marked area on the floor. 

Items can be placed in the outside or inside book returns.   

Patrons can sign up to use available computers.  The copy machine can be used. Computers and the copy machine are sanitized regularly.

We are currently able to take book donations only on Fridays

 

 

  • Call ahead before bringing items on Fridays 9-4 and you will be given instructions on where to leave them.
  • Items must be in plastic grocery bags, NO BOXES.
  • No more than 5 bags per drop-off.
  • Please have your name and phone number with the items.
  • What the library will accept:
    • Fiction with publication dates less than 5 years old, however we are temporarily accepting like-new copies of older best-selling series and classics (i.e., Dork Diaries, Lego books, James Patterson, Baldacci, Grisham, Amish books).
    • Nonfiction not more than 5 years old.

Study tables and seating is available thoughout the library. 

Staff sanitizes tables and chairs after each use. 

Print newspapers are  available to read at the library. 

Patrons can also access newspapers with their library cards 24/7 online via  NewsBank.

Basement Use Guidelines

These are the temporary guidelines describing new safety measures when using the library basement meeting room.

  • Masks are no longer required but recommended for those not fully vaccinated.
  • It is also recommended for those not fully vaccinated to maintain a 6-foot distance.
  • Stay home if you are sick or have been near someone who thinks they may have or have been exposed to COVID-19.
  • If individuals are not fully vaccinated, it is recommended they wear a face covering and/or social distancing.
  • Food and drink are allowed. Must maintain a 6-foot distance when consuming if not vaccinated.
  • Nonprofit organizations only
  • Must live Columbia and have a library card that is in good standing.
  • Basement capacity is 90 people.
